The battle is over. The dust has settled. The blood-soaked earth has received it's sacrifice. When all words and threats were exchanged, the group that backed it up was the USMC. The Marines stood over their opponents limp bodies, hands gnarled, weapons drenched blood and visceral tissue. It reminded one of how a starving dog stood guard protectively over fresh meat. I stood staring at the newest members of my band of misfits and mercenaries. They will now have the honor of being called 13th Demi Brigade., of being called... MERC.
And as their first duty, they get to bury bloated corpses of their opposition, because that is what the FNG does. A 3-to-1 ratio ought to keep the FNG's busy for a while. Welcome aboard Marines, enlistment just got a whole lot more profitable for you grunts! Until the next battle lands at our feet...
